Abstract

Background: Endovenous laser ablation (EVLA) for chronic superficial venous insufficiency is a minimally invasive, safe, and effective treatment modality that can replace conventional surgery in many cases. Objective: To evaluate the short-term clinical outcomes and early complications one month after endovenous laser ablation for chronic superficial venous insufficiency at Hue University of Medicine and Pharmacy Hospital. Materials and Methods: This prospective interventional study included patients diagnosed chronic superficial venous insufficiency by vascular Doppler ultrasonography, who underwent endovenous laser ablation and were followed for one month after the procedure at Hue University of Medicine and Pharmacy Hospital from August 2024 to March 2026. Results: A total of 59 patients with 96 incompetent saphenous veins were treated with endovenous laser ablation from August 2024 to March 2026. Clinical symptom improvement was observed in most cases: 95.8% of affected limbs had no leg pain/heaviness or only mild symptoms after treatment; 100% of patients no longer had visible varicose veins classified as CEAP C2 or higher; and 100% of limbs with skin changes secondary to chronic venous insufficiency showed healing one month after the procedure. Few complications were
