Abstract
Background: In the context of separating students from the clinical learning environment during the COVID-19 pandemic, one of the solutions to support clinical students is the application of information technology in classroom management with Google Meet software combined with actual image transmission from clinical examination and heart sound transmission so that students can absorb clinical lectures in the best way. Research objectives: 1. To assess the need for virtual clinical teaching during the Covid-19 pandemic. 2. To assess student feedback on the application of virtual clinical teaching. Methods: The study was conducted for 6 months (from 5/2021 to 11/2021), 924 Y3 clinical students studying in clinical practice were given virtual clinical instruction and were invited to answer a number of survey questions about the needs of the patient’s virtual clinical learning requirements and propose solutions to help improve virtual clinical teaching. Results: Out of 924 students surveyed, 58.1% of students think that the virtual clinical teaching method at the bedside is acceptable, and 62.4% of students find applying the clinical teaching method acceptable. Virtual clinical bedside is very necessary, 76.1% of students agree that the virtual clinical teaching method at the bedside makes learning more interesting. At the same time, students also proposed 41 key ideas to improve virtual clinical teaching. Conclusion: Students have a great need for virtual clinical teaching in hospital beds. Students who participated in this survey gave positive feedback, and this is an important driving force in the widespread deployment of bedside virtual clinical teaching.Published | 2023-09-01 | |
